Henry's Greenhouse has been a staple of the Fort Wayne area for over 35 years. Selling bedding plants to friends and family, Nancy Henry began to develop a way to supplement her family's income while her husband, Steve, worked construction; all while raising eleven children. Small greenhouses started to appear on their Lake Avenue property and everyone in the family began to help in the process of growing flowers and perennials. As more and more people bought their flowers, just as many began to ask the Henry's to plant them and take care of them. The Family started to meet the needs of their customers by implementing landscape services that ranged from landscape design and installation to lawn maintenance and tree and shrub care. A floral arrangement department also developed and flourished for many years.

As time went on, Steve Henry noticed more and more people moving towards doing some of their work themselves, especially gardening and landscape maintenance. He began selling small quantities of bulk planting soil and shredded mulches. This turned out to be a great necessity for do-it-yourselfers.

Before you know it, Steve Jr., who was helping Mom and Dad develop this family business, decided to strike off on his own seeing a need for a good commercial landscape company in the area. Thus, Henry Industries was developed; supplying high quality landscaping throughout northern Indiana and Ohio and southern Michigan. As Steve Jr.'s business developed and grew, he began talking to his parents about purchasing the original family business to help keep the family tradition alive and thriving. Now with his wife Chanin and their nine children, Steve Jr., along with his Mother and Father, are taking Henry's Nursery and Greenhouse and Henry Industries Inc. to the next level. Faith, good strong family values and just plain old hard work are still at the core of this family business.
